He served as the president of the Korean Liver Cancer Association and is currently active as a research evaluator for the National Research Foundation of Korea and the director of the WHO Collaborating Center for Hepatitis in the Western Pacific Region.

After serving as the director of the Cancer Hospital at Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, he is now the director of both Seoul St. Mary's Hospital and Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital.

He is an authority in the field of liver cancer as a researcher who integrates clinical and basic science.

He led the establishment of the POSTECH-Catholic Biomedical Engineering Institute at The Catholic University of Korea, spearheading the development of new drugs and the discovery of biomarkers (diagnostic indicators).

By strengthening ESG management, he has established a symbiotic management model for domestic medical institutions and laid a collaborative foundation for expanding clinical support for research and development of new drugs and new medical technologies.
