Yeo Seung-joo is the President and CEO of Hanwha Life.
Leveraging the acquisition of People Life, he has strengthened Hanwha Life’s market dominance and expanded its portfolio of high-margin protection-type insurance products.
Born on July 12, 1960, in Seoul, he graduated from Kyungbok High School and later earned a degree in Mathematics from Sogang University.
He began his career at Kyungin Energy, a Hanwha Group affiliate.
Yeo transitioned to Daehan Life Insurance, where he served as Head of Finance and Director of Strategic Planning, overseeing the company’s IPO on the KOSPI.
As Head of Strategic Planning at Hanwha Group, he played a key role in the acquisition of Samsung Group’s chemical affiliates.
Appointed as CEO of Hanwha Investment & Securities, Yeo successfully guided the company out of the losses from equity-linked securities (ELS), setting the foundation for business normalization.
After serving as Co-CEO of Hanwha Life, Yeo took over as the sole CEO following the retirement of Vice Chairman Cha Nam-kyu.
He is regarded as a financial expert within Hanwha Group, known for his deep understanding of financial markets and strong crisis management skills.
