He was born on November 15, 1970, in Seoul.
He graduated from Gyeonggi Science High School and KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) with a degree in chemical engineering. He also earned both his master’s and doctorate degrees in chemical engineering from KAIST.
He began his career at LG Cable before moving to LG Innotek.
He served as the head of the Optical Solution Research Lab and the head of the Optical Solution Business Unit before working as the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). In 2024, he was appointed CEO.
He played a leading role in establishing LG Innotek as a key player in the mobile camera module industry.
