Lee Young-jo was born in 1962 in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

He graduated from Andong High School and Dong-A University, where he studied Political Science and International Relations. He later earned a master's degree in Public Administration from Pusan National University Graduate School.

Lee began his career at Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) in 1988. In 2001, he moved to Korea Midland Power, where he served in key positions, including Chief of Information Security and Director of Planning and Management.

In 2024, he was appointed President of Korea Midland Power. Notably, he was the only internal promotion among the presidents of KEPCO's subsidiaries at the time.

With over 37 years of experience, Lee has dedicated his career solely to the energy and power generation industry.
