He graduated from Columbia University in the United States with a degree in Financial Economics before joining CJ Group.
He has held various positions, including Manager at CJ CheilJedang, Head of the Bio Business Management Team at CJ CheilJedang, and Senior Manager in the Management Strategy Office at CJ Corporation. He later moved to the Food Strategy Planning Team 1 in the Food Business Division of CJ CheilJedang.
With the reorganization of CJ CheilJedang, he was appointed Head of the Food Growth Promotion Office.
He was tried for violating the Narcotics Control Act.
During this process, he was suspended from the company but returned a year later as Head of Global Business.
