He was born on September 11, 1965.
He graduated from Yeongdeungpo High School in Seoul and studied Educational Technology at Hanyang University.
In 1992, he joined Tongyang Life Insurance and worked his way up through various positions including Head of the Business Division, Head of Alliance Strategy Team, and Executive Director, eventually becoming Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). He also managed roles as Head of CPC Division, Head of Sales Division, and Head of FC Division before being appointed CEO in 2024.
He is the first Korean CEO to be appointed six years after Tongyang Life Insurance was acquired by China's Anbang Insurance.
