He plays a role in paving the way for CEO Chung Ki-sun to secure the group's management rights.

After completing the restructuring of the business structure, which focuses on the three core businesses of shipbuilding, energy, and construction machinery, he is now focusing on strengthening the company's internal stability.

He was born on February 10, 1951, in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

He graduated from Hyosung High School in Seongnam and majored in Portuguese at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.

He started working under the late honorary chairman Chung Ju-yung of Hyundai Group and experienced the entire process from the early days of Hyundai Heavy Industries to becoming the world's number one shipbuilder.

He is known for his strong sense of responsibility and strict self-discipline.

He has assisted both football figure Chung Mong-joon and businessman Chung Mong-joon. Because of this, he is considered a key figure in understanding the intentions of Chung Mong-joon, the largest shareholder of HD Hyundai Group.
