Koo Kwang-mo is the chairman of LG Group. He also serves as the CEO of LG, the holding company of LG Group.

He is expanding the future automobile-related business through mergers and acquisitions.

He was born on January 23, 1978, in Seoul, as the eldest son of Koo Bon-Neung, chairman of Heesung Group and the younger brother of the late Koo Bon-moo, former chairman of LG Group.

In 2004, he was adopted by the late Koo Bon-moo.

He graduated from Yeongdong High School in Seoul and from the Department of Computer Science at Rochester Institute of Technology in the United States.

He joined LG Electronics as an assistant manager in the Finance Team of the Financial Division.

He entered the MBA program at Stanford University's Graduate School of Business but dropped out midway.

After working at a startup for about a year, he returned to LG Electronics.

He was promoted from manager of the LG Synergy Team to executive director and went through the LG Management Strategy Team and the B2B Business Division of LG Electronics.

In 2018, after the passing of Koo Bon-moo, he was appointed as the chairman of LG Group.

He emphasizes execution and focuses on internal growth as well as external cooperation.

He consistently values customer satisfaction and is deeply interested in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
