Kim Byoung-hwan is the 10th Chairman of the Financial Services Commission.
He was born in 1971 in Masan, Gyeongsangnam-do.
He graduated from Busan Sajik High School and Seoul National University with a degree in Economics (Class of '90).
In 1993, he passed the Higher Civil Service Examination and began his career in public service. In 2005, he earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
He is the youngest chairman of the Financial Services Commission and rapidly advanced to the position of First Vice Minister at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
He is a veteran economic bureaucrat who has gained extensive experience in macroeconomics and policy by holding various key positions within the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
