Huh Tae-soo is the Chairman of the GS Group and also serves as the CEO of GS, the group's holding company.
He is focused on finding the future direction of GS Group in areas such as climate change response, resource circulation, and the bio-business sector.
Born on November 8, 1957, in Busan, he is the youngest of five sons of Huh Joon-goo, Honorary Chairman of LG Engineering & Construction.
He graduated from Seoul Jungang High School and obtained a degree in law from Korea University. He then earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from George Washington University in the United States.
After working at a foreign bank, he joined LG Investment & Securities (now NH Investment & Securities) as a department head, where he served as Deputy Director of the International Finance Division, Head of the London Branch, Executive Director of the IB Business Division, and Executive Director of the Strategic Planning Division.
He then moved to GS Home Shopping, where he held positions such as Head of Management Planning and Vice President of Management Support before being appointed as CEO.
He played a pivotal role in promoting the digital transformation of GS Home Shopping, helping the company to establish a strong two-leader system alongside CJ O Shopping.
Huh places great importance on communication with employees.
He believes in the management philosophy that the realization of the company’s future vision requires collaboration not only with the executives but also with frontline employees.
