He graduated from Daegwang High School and Chung-Ang University Medical School and earned a master's degree and a doctoral degree in medicine from Chung-Ang University Graduate School.
As a graduate of the first class of Chung-Ang University Medical School, he was appointed as a professor in the dermatology department at Chung-Ang University Medical School in 1987.
He served as the director of Chung-Ang University Medical Center from 1999 to 2005, then returned to the medical director position after 15 years.
He has served as chairman of the Korean Society of Aesthetic Dermatologic Surgery, president of the Korean Society of Skin Allergy, president of the Korean Society of Aesthetic Dermatologic Surgery, and president of the Korean Skin Cancer Society, and currently serves as vice president of the Korean Hospital Association.
He is a regular member of the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences.
He served as the medical director of the dermatology department at H Plus Yangji Hospital.
He is focused on expanding medical income, which has decreased since the coronavirus pandemic, and stabilizing the operation of Chung-Ang University Gwangmyeong Hospital.
