Chung Mong-gyu is the CEO and Chairman of HDC.

As the CEO of HDC, the holding company of the HDC Group, he leads the HDC Group.

He is dedicated to restoring trust in the housing business through the reconstruction of the Gwangju Hwajeong I'Park Apartments and realizing the vision of advancing into a comprehensive financial real estate group through real estate development projects.

He was born on January 14, 1962, in Seoul.

He graduated from Yongsan High School in Seoul and earned a degree in Business Administration from Korea University. He also obtained a Master's degree in Political Science from Oxford University in the UK.

He joined Hyundai Motor Company as an assistant manager and was quickly promoted to become the Chairman of Hyundai Motor Company.

However, as the management control of Hyundai Motor Company shifted to his cousin, Chung Mong-koo, the Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, he moved to HDC Hyundai Development Company with his father, Chairman Chung Se-young, and became the Chairman.

In 1999, he separated HDC Hyundai Development Company from Hyundai Group and established HDC Group, transforming it into a corporate group with assets exceeding KRW 10 trillion (USD 7.21 billion) in 20 years.

He actively pursued mergers and acquisitions, expanding the business scope to petrochemicals, information technology (IT), distribution, and musical instrument manufacturing.

Known for his quiet yet strong demeanor, he possesses a management style that prioritizes practicality over formality.

He is an active owner-manager involved in various fields, including serving as the President of the Korea Football Association, earning him the nickname "Chameleon."
