After serving in the army as a second lieutenant (ROTC), he worked as a parliamentary secretary and then started his business by founding Dongyang Steel Industry, Taehwa Oil Transportation, and others.

Since establishing SEJUNG in 1982, he has led the company for over 40 years.

Known for his extensive connections in politics and business, he actively engages in external activities. He has maintained a close relationship with Samsung and POSCO for a long time. He is also known as a close friend of former President Lee Myung-bak.
