Born in 1964, he graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Electronic Engineering.
He obtained a master's degree in Electronic Engineering from the Graduate School of Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering from the Graduate School of the University of Florida in the United States.
He joined Samsung Electronics, serving as the head of the Controller Development Team in the Memory Business Division, an executive in charge of Flash Memory Development, and the head of the Solution Development Office. He also held positions as the head of LSI (Large Scale Integration) Development, head of SoC (System on Chip) Development, head of the Component Platform Business Team, and head of the Sensor Business Team in the System LSI Business Division.
He was promoted to President in 2021 and moved to Samsung Electro-Mechanics, where he was appointed CEO in 2022.
He is a manager with a technical DNA in both memory and system semiconductors.
